I love L.A. Casey and her Slater Brothers series. What I'd like about her series is the bond of brotherhood. How the brothers would do anything and everything for each other and for their women. Keela is a novella after Alec and it takes place 13 months after the incident(s). Keela is moving out of her tiny apartment and into a bigger house with her fiancée Alec. While clearing the last items we soon find out not all is right with Keela. She's unsure now about her relationship with Alec. She's always been the independent woman who does things her way and never asks anyone for help so Alec's complete takeover of her life is suffocating her. Of course that's not her only concern. Keela is having nightmares of the events that happened at Darkness and she doesn't tell Alec either. Oy! She finally fesses up to Aideen, Bronaugh, and Branna who totally agrees with her concerns but tells her to tell him. But she doesn't. She finally breaks when Alec's 'takeover' mode irritates the hell out of her and he now knows what's been bugging her. Alec is the type of character, in my opinion, if you would express your concerns with him, he totally will understand and make it work. Which is what happens. If she would've said something sooner, like I don't know, 13 months ago then maybe everything would've been resolved then and Alec would've taken things at her pace. Then there's a lot of drama involving her uncle, exes, fights, betrayals and a positive pregnancy test? The ultimate cliffhanger is the start of the book Kane, which I can't wait to read! The Keela novella was fun to read especially with the Slater brothers always reeking havoc with the girls. I absolutely love the family dynamics L.A. Casey provides in her series. It's very heartwarming. Write Kane faster please!
