So many twists and turns. Pepper Winter's Second Debt had me reeling at the edge of my seat. If you hadn't read Debt Inheritance or 1st Debt then do not read any more beyond this point. This story made my heart jump out of my chest, made me ugly cry and I'd almost threw my kindle across the room. This book was so intense! Pepper Winter writes good effed up characters who you love to hate because I definitely loved to hate Jethro. The story begins where 1st Debt ended. Nila finally knows who the real kite007 is and she is beyond pissed so she plots her revenge on Jethro. She wants to be the last Weaver stolen so she forms a plan but soon finds out what Jethro is truly hiding. His real self. She can't hate Jethro because she has fallen in love with him and can't form a real plan to seek revenge even after seeing the devastating horrors when she accidentally discovers what Jethro didn't want her to see. You see Jethro changing in this installment and you kinda know what his true motives really are. You get to meet Jasmine, his sister and her role in Jethro's life. I'm very intrigued that Jethro really does have a heart and I also felt for him and the facade he has to play in front of his father, brothers and grandmother. You actually felt Jethro's pain and his constant struggles to keep Nila safe. But the 2nd Debt has to be paid. The scene was so intense that I had to put the book down a couple of times. I really feel for Jethro and Nila's relationship and how hard it was for Jethro to make Nila repay the 2nd Debt. I'd actually cried like a damn baby when they finally, somewhat, confess their love for one another. It really was a heart felt moment and you end up rooting for these two. BIG cliffhanger in the end that almost made me throw my Kindle across the room! What's gonna happen to Jethro? What's Cut going to do with him? I'm sitting on pins and needles until 3rd Debt comes out. Awesome job Ms. Winter! I'm ready for more please!
